New Design Emergency Exit Sign Lighting

The new MMD/MMW luminaire range from Rodgau-based RP Technik GmbH is an expansion of their range of adaptable emergency exit sign luminaires with LED technology. The robust zinc die-cast housing means that it can be used in the most demanding of environments.

The MMD/MMW luminaires with aluminium profiles are a progressive development of the proven L series, enhanced with sophisticated design and without any visible joints. They are available as single-battery luminaires with self-testing functions or as luminaires that can be monitored via a central battery system. Of considerable advantage is their flexible application thanks to the various installation options: wall-mounting or double-sided ceiling installation, coming with the required accessories such as wall brackets, a standard double-pendant or cord suspension.

The most important feature of the new emergency exit sign luminaires is their high-quality metal housing, manufactured from die-cast zinc and available in white or anthracite. This means they can be used as robust interior luminaires (IP40 standard), for example in design-centred buildings.

MMD/MMW design luminaires are equipped with energy-saving and long-lasting LED illuminants, have a viewing distance of 20 m, and are supplied with a complete pictogram set. To change the pictogram, the housing can be easily opened without tools simply by lifting off the lid.

The emergency exit sign luminaires boast duo-technology: an additional LED on the electronics housing creates extra downward light emission. This makes the MMD/MMW design luminaires exceptional when it comes to lighting areas around doorways and passages. During normal operation, the pictogram is illuminated via a conventional high power LED. In the event of an emergency, the integrated ERT LED is automatically switched on to highlight the pictogram and light the way to the emergency exit.
