About RP-Group – Global Player from Germany

The RP Group employs around 300 members of staff at two production sites in Germany and at other sales outlets at home and abroad. Through its global sales network, the RP Group supplies its lighting solutions and batteries to partners, OEMs and the electrical wholesale trade.

The group of companies holds 53 of its own patents and in 2021 recorded sales of EUR 55 million, 50 percent of which was exported.

RP-Technik's Indian sales office is located in Bengaluru and provides sales and technical support at the highest level by a highly motivated and professional team of Indian sales engineers.

Our product portfolio includes a wide range of universal and unique emergency lighting luminaires, which are approved for sale in the territory of India.

RP-Technik GmbH

Since its foundation in 1981, the development and manufacturing of emergency lighting systems is carried out by RP-Technik GmbH located in Rodgau near Frankfurt am Main. It is the nationwide leading company regarding the use of emergency and safety luminaires with innovative LED technology. The high-performance power supply systems are designed and manufactured at the second production site in Germany, in Saalfeld, Thuringia. Batteries produced according to own specifications complete the comprehensive product range. RP-Technik GmbH is ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 50001:2011 certified. Numerous products are ‘Type Approved’ by TÜV Rheinland.

Our success story

For more than 40 years, RP-Group ensures optimum safety in buildings through innovative emergency and safety lighting. Reinald and Roland Pasedag started in a barn in Rodgau near Frankfurt am Main. In the meantime, the small business has developed into a mid-sized company group with global operations, who’s product portfolio also comprises a wide range of products for general lighting and own battery series for power supply systems.

Founding
Reinald Pasedag founded RP-Technik GmbH in a small barn in Rodgau.
1981
Founding of ROPAG
Roland Pasedag established the company ROPAG High-Tech as a technical wholesale for general lighting.
1990
Central Battery Systems
Besides the production of luminaires, also power supply systems are developed and manufactured. By means of a cooperation in Könitz in Germany, hence, a second location is created.
1991
Location Saalfeld/Thuringia
The production site for power supply systems is relocated to Saalfeld in Thuringia.
1994
Production in Rodgau/Hesse
A new production hall with an area of 1,000 m² is built in Rodgau.
1995
LED technology
Shortly after market introduction of the white LED, RP-Technik supplies the first emergency lights with LED technology in Germany.
1998
International Expansion
The production site Unterwellenborn in Thuringia is taken over completely. For the first time, RP luminaires are exported, namely to Austria and Switzerland.
2001
Building extension
RP-Group grows steadily, and the one-storey company building in Rodgau is extended by two additional storeys.
2004
Expansion continuously advances, thus, the neighbouring property in Rodgau is acquired for an extension.
2008
The new building is finished, and the production space grows from 2,000 to 5,500 m². By then, RP-Technik GmbH has 125 employees at the Rodgau location.
2009
Expansion in Saalfeld/Thuringia
The location in Thuringia also needs more space and another company building with an area of 5,000 m² is acquired in Saalfeld.
2010
Expansion of the battery stock
Sales of RPOWER® batteries are permanently rising, hence, the battery warehouse is extended and a logistics centre for the distribution of the batteries is established.
2011
In the field of general lighting, ‘iLED® by RP‘ is introduced, the new product series exclusively based on LED technology. Now, RP-Group also expands in the Middle East.
2012
New event formats
A new event format, called ‘Planner Events’, for building and electrical planners as well as architects is launched. The company’s own light laboratory in Rodgau is audited by TÜV Rheinland.
2015
ROPAG GmbH moves into a new building in Rodgau and increases its office, sales and warehouse space. The OLED escape sign luminaire receives the German Design Award and the reddot design award. The international sales force is expanding with local teams at different sites.
2016
The warehouse area of the logistics centre in Rodgau is expanded to 3,500 m². RP-Technik GmbH becomes certified according to ISO 14001 and 50001 and OHSAS 18001, numerous products are certified in compliance with ENEC 24 as well.
2017
Design Award
The number of employees increases to 210 worldwide. The escape sign luminaire of the new A-series receives the German Design Award.
2018
International Expansion
Establishment of a branch in Poland. Foundation of a sales representation in England.
2019
RP-Group bundles its business in Germany
RP-Technik GmbH takes over the general lighting product portfolio of ROPAG GmbH. With the integration of the long-standing partner companies ABM-Notstromtechnik GmbH and Reinhold Sicherheit GmbH, the RP-Group expands its range of services.
