Ice rink - Kassel Huskies

The Kassel Ice Rink, designed by Edith and Simon Kimm, was opened on 19 February 1977. In 1995/1997 the building was extended. The spectator capacity increased from 5050 to 6100 spectators.

The Kassel Ice Sports Hall serves as the venue for the Kassel Huskies' home ice hockey games and is used for concerts and other sporting events, such as basketball and indoor football tournaments and Holiday on Ice. Ice skating can be done daily during the cold season on the approximately 30 by 60 m ice surface, which is covered with sheets during concerts and similar events.

For the refurbishment, the RP Group installed a total of over 300 RP products:

  • 180 emergency luminaires from the IL series
  • 120 emergency luminaires from the KDU series
  • 15 emergency luminaires from the ZAW series
