Review of light + building 2024

Light and Building 2018 Logo

light & Building 2024 took place in Frankfurt from March 3 to 8, 2024. The trade fair was a complete success for us. Were we able to convince you of our innovations or did you perhaps not make it to our stand? In any case, we have summarized our highlights for you here.

THE TOPICS

WIRELESS PROFESSIONAL WITH CLOUD CONNECTION

The wireless solutions from RP-Group combine the function of self-contained emergency luminaires with the operating convenience of a legally compliant, centrally monitored system. The heart of the Wireless Professional radio system is the WLZENT control centre. It is responsible for the convenient setup, wireless maintenance and monitoring of the emergency lighting network. From the beginning of this year, it will be activated as standard for connection to 1,000 luminaires. The innovative new feature is the optional cloud-based data storage in RP's own LIGHTLINX® cloud, which enables the data backup required by the standard to be carried out from any location and therefore makes a significant contribution to increasing the efficiency of the system.

THE RIGHT EMERGENCY LIGHT FOR EVERY REQUIREMENT

Necessary functionality combined with variable installation options and an elegant design - these are the unique features of the design-orientated light series from RP.

New to the portfolio is a complete range of industrial luminaires with a high protection class.
In addition to its high protection class (IP 65) and white and black colours, the tried-and-tested ZAW series zinc die-cast emergency luminaire is now also available in a version for use at ambient temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius.

The new QD round luminaire provides optimum illumination in stairwells with an integrated safety module. A new bollard luminaire, also equipped with a safety module, guarantees a safe route to the assembly point outside the building in an emergency.

FLEXICLICK LENS SYSTEM

RP is equipping further emergency luminaires with the flexible FlexiClick lens system. The WF lens is a new addition to the range. This type of lens directs the light from a wall-mounted luminaire sideways to the centre of the corridor. Suitable for low room heights, this allows greater distances to be achieved compared to ceiling mounting.

BLACKLINE

The universally applicable emergency luminaires in the KMU and IL series as well as KMB provide an extremely practical and standard-compliant safety solution. The design of the tapered KMU escape sign luminaire was originally invented by RP. Today, the all-rounder luminaires are also available in an attractive black colour and can also be integrated into 3-phase light tracks.

SMALL BUT EXTREMELY POWERFUL LOW VOLTAGE EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM CORECOMPACT 24

The CoreCompact 24 is a completely redesigned emergency lighting system that was developed for small projects for up to 80 emergency luminaires within a fire compartment. The system fulfils modern requirements such as flexibility, expandability, updatability and internet capability. An emergency lighting system consists of a central supply unit, the control centre, with control computer and built-in long-life and gas-free lithium-iron-phosphate battery, one or more connected circuits and the 24-volt luminaires connected to the circuits.
Part of the commissioning is carried out by operating the touchscreen built into the system. Further configuration of the control centre is carried out via a web interface, which can be displayed and operated on any PC, laptop or mobile device connected to the control centre. A complete emergency lighting portfolio for connection to the 24-volt system has been developed and is ready for use. The smallest emergency light in the world, the new IAD, should be emphasised here.

EMERGENCY LIGHTING PERFECTLY INTEGRATED INTO TRACK LIGHTING SYSTEMS AND CONTINUOUS LINES

Strip lighting is installed along the ceiling in supermarkets, for example, to ensure uniform and bright lighting across the entire sales area. Similarly, power tracks are often integrated into the shop lighting in an attractive black colour.

RP offers integrated emergency lighting for both solutions, providing efficient lighting systems even in an emergency.

Incidentally, RP has been working closely with leading strip light manufacturers for a long time and offers harmonised solution concepts.
